TADs / Micro Implants

Temporary anchorage devices for complex orthodontic movements requiring additional support.

Overview

TADs / Micro Implants

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) are small titanium screws placed in the jawbone to provide additional anchorage during orthodontic treatment. They act as fixed points to facilitate difficult tooth movements that would otherwise be challenging with braces alone.

These micro-implants are particularly useful for cases requiring intrusion, extrusion, or distalization of teeth, midline correction, bite closure, and space closure without relying on patient compliance with elastics.

TADs are safe, temporary, simple to install and remove, and easy to maintain. They offer a fast and flexible way to accomplish complex orthodontic movements with predictable results.

Treatment Process

Treatment Planning

3D imaging to determine optimal TAD placement sites.

2

Minimally Invasive Placement

Local anesthesia followed by precise screw insertion.

3

Orthodontic Force Application

Using TADs as anchorage for controlled tooth movement.

4

Removal After Treatment

Simple removal procedure once treatment goals are achieved.
